It’s just what it sounds like: a theatrical Lab that allows students to immerse themselves in active experimentation and exploration... and then see where it takes them!
Led by a devoted and enthusiastic team of Teaching Artists, students in the Lab explore a variety of theatre related disciplines in every class: acting technique, improv, Shakespeare, music, playwriting, and more. The actors help shape the content of the class, based on their interests and on what they discover as the class progresses….and then craft an entirely unique showcase with their cast to share with family, friends and fans. The showcase is held in PGT's Jonah Mac Theatre, and is a truly magical night of performances, as we all get to see what has unfolded in the Lab throughout the season.
Theatre Lab is a progressive program - each level of the Lab provides unique and exciting challenges. As our students grow, we look forward to watching them move from Kids' Collective to the Young Actors' Ensemble to the Teen Conservatory.
In addition, we love to see our actors move between all programs at PGT including our MainStage program. If you have questions about which program, or which level of Theatre Lab, is right for you (or your child) please do not hesitate to contact Jill at (914) 946-4433 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Join us in the Theatre Lab this season, for a uniquely integrative, student-driven theatrical experience!
