Policy

Enrollment and Payment Policies

Enrollment
  • Open enrollment programs are filled on a first come, first serve basis and will close when the maximum number of students are enrolled.
  • A waiting list will be kept for programs closed due to full enrollment until the first session.
  • Programs must meet minimum number of registered students.
  • There is no pro-rating for missed class sessions. There are no makeup classes.
Payment
  • Financial Aid may be available. An application for need-based scholarship is available with registration information on the PGT website or by calling the PGT office.
  • Full payment is due prior to participation in PGT programs. Alternate payment plans must be made by prior arrangement with the PGT office. By participating in a PGT program, participating families accept responsibility for full payment of program fees.
  • MainStage Registrants, who pay by credit card and choose our 50% deposit payment plan, authorize payment of the balance to the same charge card on or after the balance due date.
  • MainStage Registrants, who pay by check and choose our 50% deposit payment plan, must include a postdated check for the remaining balance with deposit check and registration. Balance payment should be dated on balance due date listed on the registration form.
Refund Policy for open enrollment programs:
  • A full refund will be granted prior to the first scheduled session.
  • A 50% refund will be granted prior to the second scheduled session.*
  • A 25% refund will be granted prior to the third scheduled session.*
  • Absolutely no refunds will be granted after the third scheduled session.

*Little Theatre Classes Only:

  • A prorated refund will be granted through the third session
Refund Policy for MainStage participants:
  • A full refund will be granted prior to student audition date.
  • A 75% refund will be granted prior to casting notification date.
  • A 50% refund will be granted prior to first rehearsal date.
  • A 25% refund will be granted prior to second rehearsal date.
  • Absolutely no refunds will be granted after second rehearsal date.

PGT reserves the right to cancel or change dates, shows, times, locations and/or directors and teachers of all programs offered.

Summer Program Policies

Payment:

  • Summer Theatre Registrants, who pay by check and choose our 50% deposit payment plan, must include a postdated check for the remaining balance with deposit check and registration. Balance payment should be dated on balance due date listed on the registration form.
Summer Refund Policy:
  • A FULL tuition refund will be granted prior to March 1 minus $250 non-refundable deposit.
  • A 75% tuition refund will be granted prior to May 1.
  • A 50% tuition refund will be granted prior to July 1.
  • No refunds will be granted after July 1.

Private Lessons

Attendance:
  • Reliable attendance is expected for all scheduled private lessons.
  • In the unexpected event that a student will need to arrive late for a scheduled lesson, there is no make up time for the missed session time. Lesson times will not change if a student is late.
Payment:
  • Payment is due prior to the scheduled lesson(s.) Discounted multi-session lesson packages are available when purchased in advance.
Private Lesson Refund Policy:

PGT teaching artists dedicate their time to individual students for scheduled lessons. We value our teaching artists' time and commitment to our students. In the event students are unexpectedly unable to attend a scheduled lesson, our commitment to compensate teaching artists for their dedicated time does not change. Our students share in this commitment according to the following refund policy.

  • A FULL lesson credit will be granted if the PGT office is notified at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson.
  • A 50% lesson credit will be granted if the PGT office is notified at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson.
  • No credit or refund will be granted if the PGT office is notified less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson or a student does not attend a scheduled lesson without prior notification.

If a student is unable to continue with a lesson package, the following refund policy applies.

  • A FULL package refund will be granted up to 48 hours prior to the first scheduled lesson.
  • A 75% refund of the remaining lessons in the package will be granted up to 48 hours prior to the second scheduled lesson.
  • A 50% refund of the remaining lessons in the package will be granted up to 48 hours prior to the third scheduled lesson.
  • No refunds will be granted after the third scheduled lesson.

Ticket Sales and Admission

  • There are NO REFUNDS on any performance ticket except as required by law.
  • The right of admission is reserved by the box office staff at the venue.
  • Admittance to customers bearing tickets purchased online at a discount price (such as child, senior, and concession) will only be upon production to box office staff of relevant ID on the night of the performance. Failure to produce appropriate ID may result in the patron being charged full price for their ticket.
  • Ticket exchanges are available at the discretion of The Play Group Theatre box office staff and no later than 24 hours prior to performance by calling the PGT office at 914-946-4433 during regular business hours.
  • Latecomers will not be admitted until there is a convenient break in the program and admission is at the discretion of the box office personnel on the night of the performance.
  • Tickets will only be issued upon full payment.
  • Subject to availability, tickets will be available for purchase at the box office 45 minutes prior to each performance.
  • Every patron must have a valid ticket.
  • PGT reserves the right to add, withdraw or substitute artists and to vary the program should the need arise.
