At heart, PGT is a theatre school. As such, our classes are the core of all that we do. Each class is designed to challenge and inspire students at whatever point they are in their creative process. The emphasis is placed on developing kids as artists, and kids as kids. Within each class, students are receiving conservatory level training, while they are building skills in teamwork, camaraderie and self-esteem. At PGT, artistic development and personal development are of equal importance.

We teach with a process-oriented method. Students take several core classes in the basics of acting, singing and dance before they can add the next layer of their training – electives in masks, on-camera, character development, yoga and more. At all levels, students are learning new skills which they are encouraged to bring into the rehearsal process with them. Some students take only classes, while others take classes while rehearsing for one of our shows. We encourage all our students to participate in our shows at some point, as performing in front of an audience is an important part of the creative process.

Within each class, and overall throughout our classes, we ask our students to embrace the discipline of the arts, while remembering that it is all about fun. Classes are structured and, at the same time, spontaneous. Our students are challenged with complex work at an advanced level, while silly theatre games are sprinkled throughout each class. We ask students to take their work seriously, while we infuse each class with laughter. In essence, we see the artists they can become, while we celebrate the children they are.

We offer a variety of classes for students of all ages and levels. Classes meet for one hour once a week.

• Little Theatre: for ages 4-6.
• Core: Acting Technique, Improv, Musical Theatre and Dance classes for ages 7-17. Learn the basics and master what you already know! No prerequisite.
• Conservatory: Intermediate and advanced classes for ages 7-17. Prerequisite: the basic acting curriculum 3 acting classes, 1 dance class, 1 improv class and 1 musical theatre class or summer theatre and 2 acting classes.
