WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

PGT Alumni who can't keep their feet still...

DANIELLE FRIEDMAN

Appeared in: 6 PGT shows

Graduated in: 1999
College: Brown University (Undergraduate) Columbia University (Masters in Social Work and Public Health)
Currently: HIV Epidemiologist with the Maryland State Department of Health

How has PGT influenced you and your travels? I can't imagine who I would be without having been a part of the PGT family, so it's hard to pick out specific ways PGT has influenced me and the journeys I've taken. Concretely, at the very least, the love I developed for theatre at PGT inspired me to participate in a traveling theatre program during high school, and I think my sense of adventure and desire to travel the world was really born there. More broadly, PGT taught me to be an active, engaged member of a community and team and work with a variety of people, and those skills are applicable anywhere in the world I go.

Where have your feet taken you and what have you done while there? I have spent a lot of time in India. I worked on a pediatric HIV/AIDS program there for 2 years. I also worked on a program for families affected by HIV/AIDS in South Africa during 2 years of grad school... And I also went SCUBA diving in the Cayman Islands! And now I'm exploring Baltimore, where I am currently living and planning my wedding!

ADINA GOODMAN

Appeared in: 6 PGT shows
Graduated in: 2009
College: Cornell University
Currently: Middle Eastern Studies Major/Theater Minor

How has PGT influenced you and your travels? I think PGT gave me the confidence to decide to take a gap year at all. And once I was there, I think the fearlessness I was taught to have on stage stayed with me through all the new (and sometimes scary!) things I got to experience. And while being in a different country almost every month was amazing, it was reassuring that I would always have PGT as a place I could call home.

Where have your feet taken you and what have you done while there? My most recent long-term travel experience was my gap year program, Kivunim. We were based in Jerusalem, Israel and lived there for most of the year. While in Israel, we studied various Jewish communities around the world...and then got to travel to those places! Some of the countries include: Greece, Bulgaria, Morocco, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, and India.

ALEX ROSSMILLER

Appeared in: 6 PGT shows
Graduated in: 2000
College: Middlebury (Undergraduate) NYU Law
Currently: Attorney, Author of Still Broken

How has PGT influenced you and your travels? PGT showed me the importance of Baghdad and to travel throughout the Middle East. More specifically, improv training was especially useful -- much of my work and travel was one big game of "Yes, and . . ."

Where have your feet taken you and what have you done while there? Istanbul (live, study); Baghdad (work, try not to get shot); Beirut (swim, dance, foment revolution); Damascus (sight-see, try not to get shot); Amman (sip tea, play backgammon); Italy/France/England (eat, drink, be merry).

BRENNE RIMBERG

Appeared in: 12 PGT shows
Graduated in: 2008
College: NYU Tisch School of the Arts
Currently: Playing Shprintze (u/s Chava) in the National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof

How has PGT influenced you and your travels?I think it's safe to say that I didn't know what theater was, what it could do, and ultimately how much I LOVED it until I became a PGT kid. PGT provided me with a haven in which to grow up, a handful of life-long friends, and the passion to pursue this wild, thrilling career. For PGT, I am ever grateful.

Where have your feet taken you and what have you done while there? By the end of this year's tour, our cast/crew/orchestra will have done 165 shows in 63 U.S. cities and 5 Canadian provinces. We started off in Anchorage, Alaska!

EMILY NASH

Appeared in: 10 PGT shows
Graduated in: 2009
College: Vassar College
Currently: Drama major, singing with Vassar Night Owls (all female a cappella group)

How has PGT influenced you and your travels? PGT inspired me to take the risk to travel to a country I knew nothing about and to trust that I would become part of another nurturing community halfway around the world.

Where have your feet taken you and what have you done while there? I just got back from a semester abroad in Russia, where I studied acting for three months at the Moscow Art Theater School.
